There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Scholarship is open to African American college sophomores who are majoring in a program associated with Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Science, or Technology. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA and preference will be given to students attending a HBCU.

Dennis Raveling Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students pursing an advanced university degree in Wildlife, Zoology, Botany, Ecology, or other pertinent biological science. Applicant must submit a one page proposal summary description on an original research or management project.

Description: Applicant must be a current high school senior who plans to enroll full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for during the next academic year. Applicant must demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities.

AWWA Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to current undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in working in the water industry (engineering, research, etc.). In addition to the general scholarships, there are scholarships specifically for female students and minority students.

Autism Scholarship Contest

Description: Scholarship is open to citizens of the United States who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and who are interested in pursuing their educational goals beyond their present level. This can be at a college or university, a junior college, or a trade or vocational school.

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

Striving For Justice Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current community college, undergraduate and graduate students in the United States with at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicant must submit an essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, explaining how the applicant stands up for others and fights for justice in the applicant’s local community.

EA Madden Scholarship Program

Description: Scholarship is open to Black/African American college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who attend specific HBCUs (see website for list of eligible colleges). Scholarship is open to all majors with a preference for computer science, software engineering, interactive entertainment, game design and art.

Lawyers of Tomorrow Scholarship
