Achieve Your Educational Goals. Explore Scholarship Opportunities

The Arizona Community Foundation is Arizona's largest independent provider of college scholarships.   In partnership with our generous donors, we award millions of dollars annually to help students achieve their educational goals.

People are not born brain-wired knowing how to navigate the byzantine admissions process that American colleges and universities have in their wisdom imposed on their aspiring students…

-- Edward B. Fiske, Author of Fiske Guide to Colleges

CONGRATULATIONS!  You have just taken the single most important step in getting your child into college.  Organizing and planning your child’s high school years and college search will not only help you to make the best decisions regarding college, but it will help to minimize some of the most stressful educational situations that you and your child will face.

If you have ever felt like getting your child into college is like a lottery and getting scholarship money is nearly impossible, this guide is for you!  We are going to break down the process so that anyone can get their child ready for post high school education.

There are six sections to this guide; Personal Information, High School Checklists, Tracking Your High School Years, Honors, AP and Dual Enrollment, The College Search (which includes tips for the academic resume and essays), and Understanding Financial Aid. Each section provides a space to gather and document information that you will need once the college application process begins.  What really makes this guide remarkable is the treasure trove of information that is included in each section.   I personally spent countless hours researching, verifying and compiling this information so that it is accurate and relevant.  The information is pulled from such reliable sources as The College Board, Studentaid.gov, and NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling).

Thank you, Donna Phillips
