Description: Scholarships are open to students who live and attend school in the Greater Los Angeles area, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Ventura Counties. There are scholarships open to all majors and specific scholarships for nursing majors, mothers, non-traditional students, education majors, and film/television/cinema/theater majors.

OpiEnd Youth Challenge

Description: Challenge is open to legal residents of the United States who are at least 9 years old and not older than 14 years old at the time of entry. Contestant is challenged to learn about opioids and the dangers they can cause and then enter the online cost with a post to bring awareness to other students about this epidemic.

Ron Brown Scholar Program

Description: Scholars program is open to African-American/Black high school seniors who excel academically and demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship. Description: Scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a degree program at any accredited American institution with self employment experience. Examples of self employment include mowing lawns for neighbors, tutoring students, and babysitting.

Description: Scholarship is open to students accepted into an Athena January term study abroad program. Applicant must devote a day to a service project of his/her choosing and provide proof of service.

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open residents of South Dakota at the time of high school graduation with at least a 24 on the ACT or 1090 on the SAT and who had a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 prior to graduation. Applicant must attend a university, college, or technical school that provides instruction from a campus located in South Dakota. While the final deadline is January 15, it is recommended that the initial scholarship application and transcript be submitted by November 1 when establishing eligibility for the Spring term.

Description: Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades can enter in one of the following categories: poetry (a group of three poems), fiction (a short story or one-act play), or nonfiction (a personal or academic essay. All entries must be original work and sponsored by a high school teacher).
